This is exactly what I have been saying for years. Just ask Skyler. (He's the one that gets to hear me vent all the time.) But no system of taxation will ever work if those voting do not have a stake in the game. How can a system possibly work when the people who vote for bond measures (and politicians who spend money) are not the people who will have to pay for it. It's doomed to failure. Just think of your kids. How would your household budget be if kids were allowed to vote on how your money was spent? They would vote that you need to take them out to dinner every night, buy them new clothes, etc. As long as they don't have to pay, why should they care? The rich (Mom and Dad) will take care of it.
